HISTORY
Our journey into the world of indulgence began in 1927 in the enchanting town of Certaldo, Tuscany, home to the historic Gelati Menne.
A company with a rich heritage in authentic Italian gelato, founded when Amegon Pieragnoli—known as “Menne”—began producing and selling homemade gelato on the streets of Certaldo, a picturesque town near Florence.
Just seven years later, in 1934, “Ethniki Vioniki Galaktos” began to write its own story, at our historic location at No. 88 Iera Odos in the heart of Athens, in the very same spot where it has stood ever since, under the watchful gaze of the Acropolis. It was there that EBGA’s first ice cream was born, loved by generations upon generations!
A NEW ERA BEGINS
Over time, the expertise and passion for quality ice cream of these two historic companies came together, Athens met Tuscany—and from this union we drew inspiration, innovation, and new ideas, which we brought back to Greece, renewing our identity and ushering in a new era!
Today, as Menne, we continue with the same dedication and passion the tradition of creating unparalleled, premium-quality ice cream flavors, honoring our history while moving forward with a modern perspective and creativity.
